Ric Flair was recently interviewed by Alex Marvez in his weekly pro wrestling syndicated column. Flair told Marvez that he wants to wrestle again and went as far as saying that he just recently sent John Laurinaitis (head of WWE talent relations) a text-message offering his services.
Flair said, "I watch (WWE) and I can still do better than 90 percent of the guys there. I weigh one less pound than the day I retired. I still work out really hard and I wrestle my kid (Reid) all the time. It's not like I haven't been in the ring." Ric then said that he's tired of
signing autographs and that he can
make more money wrestling. Flair said that people in Europe are offering him a fortune to wrestle.
WWE has yet to confirm anything; however, Ric revealed to Marvez that he sent Vince McMahon a text message asking him why he wasn’t included in the 2009 Draft. Vince’s reply was that, he’s retired.
Ric briefly discussed Reid’s recent arrest for heroin saying, "The biggest thing about that is that it's a disease. It's not so hard for me to say that after being at an outpatient clinic with him where they talk about a chromosome deficiency causing stuff like that. It's curable, but he's going to have to work real hard at it. He's doing that."
Marvez also commented on Flair saying, "Ric Flair seems set on becoming pro wrestling's version of Brett Favre."
